Revision History, V 0 - V 0,9,45

Page history last edited by Andrew H. 16 years, 10 months ago

 V 0.9.45

July 10th, 5:00pm

- Fixed an autocensor mishap

- You can now click the autorefresh status indicator to trigger it manually

V 0.9.4

July 9th, 12:30pm

- Added pretext - Starting text, fake sigs, custom quote markup, custom cursor position - in topic/reply/PM

- For the full guide, click the help icon next to "Pretext" in post settings

- Added autocensor

- Automatically censors bannable words by replacing them with non-bannable words and stategically blacking out letters

- Can try censoring words bannable depending on context (asshole, rape)

- You are responsible for everything you post, autocensored or not

- Censors when the text area is blurred (loses focus, like when tab - entering to the post reply button).  May not work if you click the post button instead.

- Let me know if something doesn't get censored.  You can see the list of censored words near the bottom of the source code.

- Tested with NWA lyrics

- Added usercolors

- Works the same way as IGNBQ and uses IGNBQ's colors

- Got rid of that annoying outline

- For now, you'll still have to choose your colors with IGNBQ

- Changed the post settings panel

- Added pretext field and help icon

- Added autocensor settings

- Changed the display settings panel

- Changed layout

- Added position settings for when in a board and when in a topic

- Added PM Count autorefresh toggle

- Added PM Count autorefresh interval

- Added PM Count autorefresh caption

- Added drop shadow method toggle - Firefox 3.5 native rendering (probably faster, accurately shadow rounded edges)    or normal rendering

- Added drop shadow blur radius - FF 3.5 rendering only

- Added drop shadow size change - FF 3.5 rendering only

- Added usercolor toggle

- Added usercolor refresh

- Added lock topic checkbox to edits that need it

- The script will not autorefresh topics in other tabs (or, those in which you manually refresh and then refrain from moving your mouse and clicking)

- Will now refocus the text area after using the link dialog (previously it lost focus)

- Script will try to scroll back to where you were looking after using a keyboard shortcut (stupid markup buttons always scroll you to the top)

- Autorefresh now refreshes every x milliseconds, instead of every x milliseconds after the previous autorefresh was finished

- May have finally fixed crashing with autorefresh

- My new theory is that, previously, when I used a bunch of setTimeout()s to refresh, the timers didn't stop timing and piled up, slowing down the browser and eventually crashing it.  I now use setInterval instead, and RAM/CPU usage seems reasonably stable.  Firefox has not crashed for 3 days after implementing this.

- No more outline when clicking some buttons on the toolbar, added some hover/active styling

- Users of higher firefox versions will notice rounded corners on the panels

- Added many Help text tooltips - hover over something if you don't know what it does

- Can find a persons username through their browser cookie, kinda useless right now

- Worked on autorefreshing replies/silent post...almost there

- Fixed a bug that created extra line breaks in quotes

- Fixed a bug that made the script think it was in a topic when it wasn't for weird URLs, which prevented all of the normal out-of-topic stuff from happening

- Fixed a bug that made keyboard shortcuts fire without pressing CTRL after using the image or link dialog

- Fixed a potential bug when using the PM Count autorefresher when not logged in

- Fixed a potential bug that would prevent the PM Count autorefresher from working when the user has 10 or more new PMs

- Fixed a bug that prevented the PM Count autorefresher from working because of the rand value.  A random number is now placed there instead of a 0.

0.9.41 - Removed debug code that was triggered when quoting with pretext

V 0.9.2

July 3rd, 11:30am

- Added keyboard shortcuts for markup

- CTRL + B, I, U, L, M, Q, R, F, T, O

- Color and highlight markup will remember last color selected from drop down menu

- Shouldn't interfere with default firefox shortcuts, but could get tangled with extension shortcuts, let me know if anything's screwy

- Will only work when the text area is in focus

- Added color selector to markup bar

- Added custom markup colors

- Can use any valid CSS color name, or colors in the form #abcdef or #abc

- Remember that highlight and markup shortcut keys remember the last color selected

- Drop down menu is smart enough to give a black background to lighter colors or white text for darker highlights

- Added PM count autorefresh

- Works out of topic and in topic

- Refreshes in same intervals as topic autorefresh

- Is much faster than topic autorefresh since I only have to request less than a kilobyte of data

- Can now quote replies into new PMs

- Changed the way the home button works - will now work after voting in a poll

- Changed how panels are closed

- Panels are much more usable

- Can switch between edit and reply by clicking the sub links

- One panel doesn't have to be manually closed for another one to be open

- Can re-fetch the post/PM forms after posting without a redirect (multiple PMs/edits/topics/replies now possible)

- Changed display settings

- Text fields are now selectable

- Changed post settings

- Added a field for custom colors and a help button for it

- Changed HTML parser

- Fixed non-breaking space bug

- Now handles unknown html tags properly - can quote embedded videos

- Users who use linkify ting can now properly quote linkified links

- All main buttons on the toolbar can be opened in tabs by middle-clicking

- Autorefresh should be more efficient and less crashy

- I wrapped the XMLHTTPRequest in a function to help move garbage collection along, and I manually delete the onload event handler

- Title of post reply panel now changes to indicate an edit

- Added performance profiling debug mode, will display how long certain things take

- To use, toggle the performanceProfiling value in about:config

- Added helpful dialog when running for the first time

V 0.9.1

July 2nd, 2:47am

- Can now hide the toolbar.  Quick stuff and status icons will still show up.

- Right-click the greasemonkey icon, go to user script commands, toggle the toolbar, and refresh

- Script will now automatically bring the appropriate text fields into focus (you can type right after quoting, no clicking the text area is necessary)

- For topics, it will bring the subject field into focus, unless there is already a subject in there, in which case it will focus the body

- For replies and quotes, it will bring the body into focus

- For PMs, it will focus the username field, subject field, and body, in that order, checking if text is already there

- Changed form styling

- Error messages (A message body is required, etc.) will now hover over the middle of the text area instead of moving things around

- In the PM form, the username and user select fields are bigger and easier to tell between

- In the PM form, the highlight list is moved up a bit, so those people not using my same exact stylesheets won't encounter a wierdly positioned highlight list

- You can now quote text into a new topic

- Changed HTML parser

- Images can now be quoted correctly for people who don't use text-to-image

- Will now destroy the link surrounding images, again for those not using text-to-image

- The toolbar will now appear in more places in the board system, like the private messages page

- In these weird places, the post topic button will bring up a place where you can choose to post on one of your favorite boards

- Drastically changed the way the script identifies where in the board system it is

- The script will now work after voting in a poll (and on pages that use Message.aspx instead of the normal page)

- The script now logs various events for debugging.  Press CTRL + SHIFT + J if you want to see it in action.

- I probably made other little fixes that I don't remember

V 0.9.01

June 29th, ~10:00am

- Changed HTML parser

- Images in different forms can be quoted correctly

- >, <, and & can be quoted correctly

V 0.9.0

June 29th, 6:40am

- Added ignore users function

- An unlimited (unless you run out of HDD space) list of ignored users is maintained and enforced

- Ignored posts will have the icon, board stats, signature, subject/timestamp, and reply text removed.  WUL links, sub-post links, and username remain.

- All ignored posts have a "Show Reply" button added, so you can see the reply text if you want, and then hide it again with the new "Hide Reply" button

- Alongside the WUL links is a new "Ignore" button, that will change to an "unIgnore" button if the user is already ignored

- Added show/hide reply buttons

- Under each post is a "Hide Reply" button, which will hide the signature, subject/timestamp, and reply text

- This button changes to a "Show Reply" button under hidden replies

- Hidden replies and their authors can still be quoted and PMed

- Changed display settings

- Added "Absolute" checkbox under WUL Links.  This toggles whether the WUL Link areas should be positioned absolutely or not.  Absolutely positioned WUL Links prevent the page from getting larger after WUL Links are added, but don't look quite right (especially in ignored posts).

- Added a separator between autorefresh and bar position

- Added "Ignore Users" checkbox.  Toggles if ignore list is enforced, but does not alter ignore list.  The list of ignored users can still be altered with the Ignore/unIgnore buttons when "Ignore Users" is toggled off.

- Added "Erase List" button, which erases your ignore list.  Don't worry if you click it accidentally, it makes sure that you're sure ;)

- Added "Show/Hide" checkbox, which toggles the show/hide reply buttons.  If this is off, "Show Reply" buttons under ignored posts will still show up.

- Moved update frequency to under the ignore users bit

- AutoWUL code no longer executes when WUL Links are disabled

- Fixed the too big drop shadow bug

V 0.8.9

June 28th, 12:15am

- Added quicker quote

- Instead of loading a new page when quoting someone, the contents of the reply are parsed to board code and put in the text area

- Can now quote multiple people very easily

- Added quicker PM

- Instead of loading a new page to PM a specific user, the username is taken from the page and put in the username field

- Can now switch recipients after typing out a PM

- Changed post settings

- Added a "Reply WE" (Reply Without Entering) checkbox under redirection.  "Reply" only applies to normal, in-thread replies.

- Used long strings broken up with escaped line breaks instead of concatenated ones for icon data, should mean marginally faster "start up" time

- Started working on autorefresh replies

V 0.8.81

June 24th, 11:03pm

- May or may not have fixed some rendering errors in the post forms

- This is the first release for non-beta testers

V 0.8.8

June 24th, 6:20pm

- Posting iframes are now styled by the script.  It is no longer necessary to use or update the stylish style.

- As a side effect, the regular posting forms look like they normally do

- Did a lot of tweaking of the styles to get around some inconsistencies with the stylish implementation

- Whenever one of the posting iframes is unloaded, the fancy loading animation is displayed every time instead of just the first time it's loaded

V 0.8.7

June 21st?

- Added a EULA/confirmation dialog

V 0.8.6

June 20th?

- Fixed a possible bug

- Panels are now drawn less stupidly

- AAUS check frequency

- Drop shadow toggle

- Drop shadow intensity

- Drop shadow offset

V 0.8.0

June 17th, 6:10pm

- Updated the script

- Added post form preloading for posting topics, replies, and PMs.  Each time you go to a new page, the script will load up the forms in an invisible iframe, so that when you click, say, the reply button, the form will pop up and you won't have to wait (as long as it's been preloaded).

- Added fancy loading animation

- Changed how the panels load fundamentally.  If you close a panel and open it again, the form won't reload and you'll instead see what you typed in earlier

- Added quick edit and link hijacking for it

- Changed post settings panel

- Added settings for preloading (topic, reply, PM)

- Added edit hijacking setting

- Added WUL links setting

- Removed useless topic hijacking setting

- Added position modification setting

- Added more redirection settings

- Post redirection now works properly.  If you post a reply in a thread, you will be brought to whatever page it was posted on.  If you post a topic, you will enter the topic.

- Post redirection won't trigger when a panel is closed anymore

- Added a position check to make sure the x and y variables weren't ridiculous (over 2000).  If they are, it will reset them to defaults.

- Probably other stuff I forgot

- Updated the stylesheet

- Added rules for the quick edit form

V. 0.7.8

June 10th, 11:55pm

- Added WUL and deWUL links under each user's post count

V. 0.7.7

June 10th, 4:15pm

- You can now change the bar's position by editing the barx and bary variables in the source code

V. 0.7.6

June 9th, 11:15pm

- Fixed the below "event listeners piling up" bug

- Previously, if you left the browser open with a boards page on it, each time the page autorefreshed it would add an event listener, but never removed the previous event listener.  This would cause Firefox to eventually crash.

V. 0.7.5

June 5th, 4:00pm

- Added autorefresh

-Added settings for autorefresh (toggle, time interval)

- Fixed posting a reply without entering a thread with autorefresh on, but fix may pile up event listeners and slow down the browser after many autorefreshes

V. 0.7.0

May 31st, 10:25pm

- Updated the userscript

- Changed all previously text buttons into icons to save space and look cooler

     - Settings, post history, post reply, post topic

     - All icons have alt text, so if you forget what they do, just hover over them

- Made the home icon bigger

- Added title to post topic and post reply panels

- Added quick PM and link hijacking for it

- Added prototype redirection-after-post (reloads top window when frame window's content changes, not perfect)

- Added link hijacking and redirection settings

- Cleaned up code

     - Removed some redundant CSS entries

     - Put some things in functions that should have been in their own function in the first place

     - Consolidated and enforced consistency

     - Replaced stupid things with smarter things

- Updated the stylesheet

- Added rules for quick PM

V. 0.6.0

May 26th, 8:10pm

- Added minimize, restore, and close buttons to the post panels

- Changed the behavior for posting in a thread without entering it.  Clicking the time link quick posts, mouseupping follows it normally.

- Cleaned up the metadata

V. 0.5

May 25th, 7:47pm

- The space that you could click to return to the vesti is now marked with an icon

- This will now work on all boards (clicking the icon in a topic in the PS3 lobby will bring you back to the PS3 Lobby)

- Made some adjustments to the spacing of stuff in the bar so the icon would fit

May 25th, 10:05am

- Posting without entering a thread should work properly

- Added test code for refreshing the top window on an iframe redirect

May 24th, 11:50am

- You can now post a reply to a topic without entering it, see user guide for usage details

May 22nd, 11:10pm

- Added a few things to the stylesheet I forgot in the last update

- Link hijacking now works properly

May 22nd, 4:20pm

- Updated the stylesheet

     - Most important markup buttons are present

          - Smilies, color list, blockquote, hrule, bold, italics, underline, link, image

     - Post Reply/Post Topic button added, tab-enter works beautifully

     - Looks cooler

     - On the post reply form, the subject field is smaller to emphasize it less, and the topic author link is placed to the left of it.  The topic title was removed since you can always see it in the firefox title bar/on the page

     - Removed the TOS message

     - Deleted some unnecessary rules

- Updated the userscript

     - Adjusted iframe height to fit stylesheet

     - Added link hijacking for the post reply/quote reply buttons that are aligned to the right under every post

- This feature means you can click the aforementioned buttons and it will open the form in the toolbar instead.  This essentially adds quick quote capability.  Clicking the larger post reply button in the top left will still redirect

     - Added code base for functions to execute only inside or outside of an iframe

     - Applied fix for the toolbar appearing in the IGN quick reply form

     - Cleaned up a bit

Updated again at 5:25pm to fix a bug

And again at 5:45pm
