Installation

Page history last edited by Andrew H. 9 months, 4 weeks ago

This page describes how you can get your hands on IGN++.

How to install IGN++

  1. Install Mozilla Firefox OR Google Chrome if you haven't already
  2. Firefox users should install the extension from addons.mozilla.org
  3. Chrome users should install the extension from the Chrome Web Store
  4. Read the User Guide!

Most users should install the extension according to the instructions above. Installing in this way should provide you with automatic updates. See install.rdf and manifest.json for information about supported versions, etc

Alternate download sources

This workspace's file upload space

This should contain all versions, public and in development. ignpp.xpi should always contain the latest version. Installing the extension from here may not allow you to receive updates.

AMO version history

This should also contain all versions.  It is especially useful for Firefox users who want to use a public version before it passes an official Mozilla review.

GitHub repository downloads page

This page will let you easily download the source code as a ZIP archive, which can then be extracted and used as an unpacked extension.  You can also find download links in the repository to get an archive for a certain branch or commit.  Using this download source is only recommended for those who know what they're doing.

Firefox users can install the extension from the Development Channel to get updates as soon as I release them. This can be found on the Firefox extension page. The Chrome Web Store does not support a Development Channel, so those Chrome users who want to use a dev version must download a version from one of the sources above, extract the archive, and install as an unpacked extension.

This extension was made in such a way that there is one extension archive file that works on both browsers.  You can extract an archive downloaded from any source, point both browsers to it, and it will work.
